Coach Scott Mellott pronounced himself satisfied with his team’s performance

in their fu4t outing. He noted that during the first game against Manassas Park, the team used only two servers. “We controlled the ball the entire game. ”

He said the success was due to a “total team effort. ”

Among the potential standouts for the Panthers this year, coach Mellott pointed to his setters, Kathy McNitt and Holly Moffett, backed up by Jennifer Dodson and Lisa Manwaring; power servers Deena

Hitt, Heidi Maeyer, Beth Conover(^ and exchange student Bella Siguei- \ redo; and reserve players Linda Jenkins and Liz Oliver.

Coach Mellott said his team ismotivated' and high spirited, “and we’re getting the teamwork down — playing as a unit rather than as individuals. That’s the goal.”
