Students elect
prefect council
The Wakefield School Prefect Council and Court for 1989-90 were sworn in at a school assembly Nov. 8. Both appointed and elected students from grades 1-12 make up th6 Prefect Council at the private school in Huntly.
The Prefect Council helps carry out school rules and enforce policy. Appointed prefects of the prep school make up the Prefect Court, which reviews honor code and rule violations and makes disciplinary recommendations to the headmistress. Grades 1-5 choose several different sets of prefects throughout the year, as the younger students are learning the perfect system. Prefects for grades six and above are named for one school year.
Prefects for 1989-90 by grade are: sixth: Jennifer Blount and Suzanne Carrier; seventh: Meredith Fascett and Colleen Harrell; eighth: Tim Roberts and Jim Mark; ninth: Matt Durbin, Lindsy Lawrence, Stephanie Tordeden and Suzanne Updike; tenth: Nada Cullers, Detra Funk, Jamie Hutt and Trevor McCall; eleventh: Jennifer Cressman, Florian Dengel, Katie Holland and Jamed Stephens; twelfth: Wilson Daugherty, David Katzen, Evan Walker and Dawn Weston.
Miss Weston was named president of the Prefect Council.
