Tree Spirits’ at Libraiy

"Free Spirits," a panel discussion of the contributions to the county's culture by the Sixties flower children who moved here in the last three decades, will be held at 8 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Rappahannock Library.

The discussion is part of the library's "First Friday" series, although it was postponed a week from last Friday.

A babysitting service will be provided during the program. Reservations must be made by calling the library by noon on Friday, Nov. 8. The service is free but a small donation will be appreciated. Call 675-3780.

The December program will be "The Best of All Worlds," living and working in Rappahannock.

Fuel aid applications taken

Applications for this winter's fuel assistance program will be taken during the month of November only, according to the Virginia Department of Social Services.

Those who apply will be notified if they qualify within 30 days.

After Nov. 27, only crisis assistance applications will be taken.

Because of a shortage of federal funds, the total amount available will be less than last year. Calf Aline Johnson at 675-3313 for more information.
