Luke and Clerk of the Court Diane Bruce will return for four more years.

In the 7th District Congressional race, Del. George Allen won the county, but by a smaller margin than his overall victory. He beat Kay Slaughter in Rappahannock, 1,272 votes to 1,090. Del. Allen won all six county precincts.

In the 26th District of the Virginia Senate, incumbent Kevin Miller won handily across the district, but lost in Rappahannock. Margaret Haynes got 896 votes here to his 847, and Ms. Haynes won four of six precincts.

Republican challenger Ed Robb took the county with ease over incumbent Sen. Thomas Michie in the 25th District, winning here 272-127 as he did across the district.

The Rappahannock High girls basketball team lost in the opening round of the Bull Run District tournament Tuesday night, 58-31 to Page County. „ Sherron Boddie scored 10 and Leah Marlett 8.

The Lady Panthers end the year with a 3-17 overall record, 3-13 in the district.
