In Rappahannock, unofficial results showed Sen. Miller losing the county, collecting only 847 votes to Ms. Haynes’ 896. In Fauquier County, Sen. Miller had 4,113 votes to Ms. Haynes’ 2,723 votes. In Culpeper County, Sen. Miller accumulated 3,821 votes to Ms. Haynes’ 1,846.
Mr. Robb, a retired FBI agent, garnered 272 votes in Rappahannock to Sen. Michie’s 127.
The GOP picked up eight senate seats statewide, narrowing the Democrat’s majority from 30-10 to 22-18. “I am even more excited by the [results] statewide, on the Republican side. It is now going to be a new ball game, a force to reckonned with. . .” Sen. Miller offered. “I think there has been lot of dissatisfaction in the state with the Wilder administration.”
