burg and a district representative for U.S. Rep. James Olin, D-5th, made education the primary plank on her campaign platform. During the campaign, she has also called for greater use of public-private partnerships in education, higher salaries to attract the most qualified teachers, and lower teacher-student ratios to improve the individual instruction received by each child.
She was unable to be reached for comment after the election.
Miller, the senate’s only certified public accountant, campaigned on his conservative record as well as his experience in Richmond.
