These remarks are aimed at the Rappahannock News editors, past and present, and not to editors in general.
1. Why do the editors never reply to these letters addressed to them? Very often the letters beg for a reply and since an editor is supposed to possess a prolific pen he (she) is passing up a golden opportunity. For instance, a letter states “I like J.W. for Sheriff.’’ The editor could say at the end of the letter “Well, their editor does not agree.” This does not take even much creative thinking or writing.
2. Why do they (I shall refer editors as they hereafter) edit letters to the editor? The first line in my letter about cats was “What this county needs is a cat disposall. They took one “1” out of disposall and changed
