The Board of Supervisors learned Monday that the county could have cable TV for most of the villages and nearby areas by Christmas 1993.
County Administrator John McCarthy said that a committee made up of representatives from the county, Town of Washington, and Adelphia Communications had met and agreed on a francise, but the final draft of the agreement is not yet ready.
Mr. McCarthy said the agreement called for the county and town to receive 3.5 percent of the gross revenues the company receives from providing service to Rappahannock. The funds would be split between the town and county according to the number of subscribers in each, he said. The area to be served would include Chester Gap, Flint Hill, Washington, Amissville and Sperryville. Several of the roads near those towns would also carry cable TV.
