Bike-a-thon in Hint Hill
This year's St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital's Wheels for Life Bike-athon will be held 9 a.m.-noon May 9 at the Caledonia Farms Road in Flint Hill.
Volunteer workers and riders are needed to raise funds for childhood cancer. St. Jude's Research Center was founded by Danny Thomas.
Riders are sponsored per mile completed. All riders turning in money receive a certificate. Those raising $30 get a T-shirt; those raising $75, a sportsbag.
"We really need lots of riders/since the center operates from public support, primarily," said Steve Young of Sperryville, one of Virginia's first unrelated bonemarrow recipients.
For details or sponsor sheets call Mr. Voting at 987-9517 or coordinator Jon Heddleston at 987-8137.
