In concentrating on the world around us, meaning the environs of Rappahannock County, the Library’s First Friday Program series is focusing on education for adults, 8 p.m. May 1.
There are opportunities for new perspectives, avenues toward new horizons in every direction today, and speakers have been invited from Shenandoah University, Lord Fairfax Community College, Georgetown University, and from Rappahannock’s continuing education program within our own public school system.
Representing Shenandoah will be Ralph E. Lewis. As director of continuing education, his main concentration is on working with area school division teachers who are pursuing master’s degrees.
As director of summer programs, he coordinates programs that are centered at Shenandoah as well as programs such as the National Elderhostel program.
In addition to his involvement at Shenandoah, Mr. Lewis serves on the Frederick County Personnel Committee and the boards of the Winchester Free Medical Clinic and the William Henry Evans Home. He is commissioner of the Northwestern Basketball Officials Association and he enjoys officiating
