In the past three years, the Virginia Gold Cup races have moved into a new realm. The steeplechase classic now is accessible not only to the 50,000 spectators, but to 30 million more via their television sets.

The 67th running of the Virginia Gold Cup will be nationally televised beginning at 3:30 p.m. May 2 — in time for the start of featured four-mile $40v000 Gold Cup timber race, sponsored by BMW, and the three-mile $40,000 Continental Cup hurdle race. The live show will be aired for 90 minutes, followed by the ABC Network coverage of the famed Kentucky Derby.

The Virginia Gold Cup show is produced ,by Home Team Sports (HTS) and aired live over the Prime Sports Network (PSN), a distribution that covers coast-tocoast.
