The Board of Supervisors got its first look at the preliminary draft of next year’s $7.8 million county budget last week.
Accountant Wally Cox told the supervisors last Thursday it could be funded at a tax rate of 50 cents per hundred for real estate and $2.90 for personal property.
Those rates are essentially the same as the current rates of 77 cents per $100 for real estate and $2.90 for personal property. The lower real estate tax rate is' based on the new assessment.
