'Rhythms' cast

Chris White of Washington, Va., a nationally produced playwright, will be presenting the premiere production of her new play, “Rhythms,” in the Ki Theatre Building (the old Town Hall) in Washington, Va., at 8 p.m. on May 29,30 and 31.
“Rhythms,” which is set in Rappahannock County, will feature local actresses Dinah Pehrson-Day, Page Smith, Robin Herr, and Sheila Simms Watson, as well as regional performers Belinha Beatty, Diana Morgan and Stephanie Mastri.
Through the extensive use of monologue (as well as dialogue), spotlights, simple songs and props, and some movement and dance, the play goes into the hearts and mindB of seven women and the rhythms that pulse through their lives.
Ms. White, her husband and their two young children moved to Washington, Va. a year and a half ago.
Work on this play started not long after the move; “the interest and depth of this area’s residents, and the sensuality and spirituality of the place has been my inspiration for this project,” said Ms. White.
She also said she hopes the play will feel both very familiar and very universal to those who come to see it. *
