Have you ever tossed a coin into a wishing well, closed your eyes tightly, and made a wish? Oid your wish come true? Well, maybe so . . . maybe not.
When we make a wish, we take a chance. A wish carries with it no guarantee . . . only the elements of luck and coincidence; not so with prayer.
Prayer is guaranteed. Matt. 7:7 promises, ‘for everyone who asks receives...'; thus each prayer is answered according to what God judges is best for us, His children.
Therefore, cast your eyes not into the depths of the wishing well, but upward toward heaven as we worship God each Sabbath and trust in His wisdom each day.
