American popular music of the 20th Century will be featured in "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue," 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at The Theatre at Washington, Va.
The Culpeper Choral Society will present the program. Lois Shanks is the organist and director, Mary Lu Hartsell is the accompanist.

RAAC movie: 'Cape Fear'
Last year's hit movie "Cape Fear," Rated R, starring Robert DeNiro, Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange, and Juliette Lewis, is the Sunday Night RAAC Movie at The Theatre at Washington, Va., 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3.
Director Martin Scorsese shines up the original 1962 film with workmanlike brilliance. DeNiro, imprisoned for 14 years due to his defense attorney's treachery (Nolte), is released from prison with vengeance on his mind.
His victims, Nolte and wife Lange, play their parts with convincing desperation. Lewis, Nolte's sexually budding daughter, evolves in this cat-andmouse story from a troubled teenager to a woman in a staggering sequence of stages.
May Day festival at school
Spring Mountain School, a Waldorfstyle school in Washington, Va., will host a May Day Festival from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.
The festival will include a traditional May Pole celebration with live music, crafts and food. Games for children of all ages will be offered, including a treasure hunt, tug-of»war, sack races, jump roping and more. The rain date is Sunday, May 3.
Admission is free, and the public is invited. Spring Mountain is located in the old Washington High building on Mount Salem Avenue.
