Winning the 57th running of the feature — itself a tough fourmile timber race for a large 200year-old trophy plus the major share of the $7,500 — was Prince Saran. Owner John Neal, wife Linda, and their three sons hadflown up from Nashville, Tenn., to watch the race.
“Anyone who says the World’s Fair or meeting the president is more exciting is wrong," said Neal, while his wife added. “It’s like winning the Kentucky Derby!”
