She noted that on average about six people come into the library between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. On the other hand, many more people are in the library between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. She noted that other libraries are open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
She reported that she, assistant librarian Elizabeth Jones and Roberta Anderson visited the Library of Congress to pick out books that library was giving away. She said they acquired about $3,000 worth of reference books that are more current than ones the library now has.
Stones from the original White House were donated by George and Lydagene Muth. They will be used in building a base for a new flagpole. Funds collected as a memorial for Isaac Parrish will be used to pay for the flagpole.
The board agreed to seek additional bids on regrading parts of the driveway and trying to Fix the ditches along the driveway to prevent erosion. The board agreed to see if this work would take care of problems without hard surfacing the driveway and parking areas.
The board also agreed that all groups need to check with the librarian before scheduling any events at the library.
