Sheriff Woodward said most of the dogs involved “don’t do anything agressive to people.”
On target shooting the supervisors asked if they could pass an ordinance prohibiting firing guns a certain distance from a house. Sheriff Woodward said that some of the complaints come from Chester Gap and Rappahannock Lakes. “If you fire anything in those areas, it’s too close,” he said.
Mr. Luke said such a law would require “careful enforcement. If somebody goes out to shoot a snake, you’ve got to make exceptions,” he added.
Nothing was resolved, and the sheriff left noting that he told people he would report on the problems to the supervisors and he had done so.
