Jay. Katzen, Republican candidate for the 31st House of Delegates District, which includes Rappahannock, came to the county last Wednesday and came by the Rappahannock News office for an interview.
Mr. Katzen lives in Markham in Fauquier County. He moved into the 31st District in the summer of 1992, but he had lived near The Plains in Fauquier County for the previous eight years. Mr. Katzen formerly worked with the U.S. State Department and was stationed in Africa and Romania. He now advises American corporations in the oil and energy fields on foreign investments.
He and his wife Paddy, the Fauquier County litter and recycling coordinator, have three sons. The oldest, Tim, is in surgical residency after graduating in medicine from the Medical College of Virginia. His middle son, David, graduated from Marshall Junior High and Wakefield School and is a senior at the University of Kentucky. Their youngest son, James, graduated from Marshall Junior High and Fauquier High School and is a sophomore at the Massacusetts Institute of Technol
