classroom-type atmosphere, Ms. Wolfford said. She said that usually a therapist or specialist on a specific issue comes to the group to discuss the selected topic. Women are able to interact with each other and with the speaker in the groups, she said.
The education classes are offered at a nominal fee and the series of topics will repeat this fall, she said. Interested women should contact Ms. Wolfford at Family Focus.
An ongoing psychotherapy group is offered for women who are survivors of childhood physical or sexual abuse, Ms Wolfford said. The group, she said, is very powerful and is expanding all of the time.
These sessions are offered at $35 per meeting and Ms. Wolfford generally meets with interested persons ahead of time in an attempt to determine whether the therapy is appropriate for them, she said.
This group, she said, deals with its members past history and how that history relates to the present. Intimacy, spirituality, forgiving, and anger are among the topics discussed, Ms. Wolfford said. v
