Combine raisins and wine; let stand 2 hours. Drain and set aside.
Combine apples, sugar, butter, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon in a 3-quart saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 30 to 35 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Stir in raisins, and cook 1 minute or until hot, stirring constantly. Serve with ham or pork. Yield: 3 1/2 cups

Damson Plum Jam
5 cups coarsely chopped Damson plums (about 2 pounds)
3 cups sugar
3/4 cup water
Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pot. Bring slowly to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cook rapidly to jellying point. As mixture thickens stir frequently to prevent sticking. Put hot into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch head space. Adjust caps. Process 15 minutes in boiling water bath. Yield about 3 pints.
