My husband and I have heard many comments on the futility of fighting a power company. However, considering the alternatives, such as lost property values, destruction of scenic beauty and the possible health risks to livestock and people from exposure to electromagnetic fields, we think we have no choice but fight as hard as possible to keep this proposed line out of the county.
Therefore, we urge all county residents to attend the public meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Courthouse in Washington, and find out what can he done to stop this power line. ;
Power lines are forever. As long as there is a chance of keeping th£m out, we must try. As residents of one of the most beautiful spots bn Earth, we owe it to ourselves andto our children to keep it that way. •
