The Rappahannock Board of Zoning Appeals reviewed three applications last week forwarded to them for approval by the Rappahannock Planning Commission.
The commission had recommended the application by James T. Hawkins for a special use permit for a mobile home as a family apartment be approved. However, they had questions about the use of other mobile homes currently on the property. The BZA approved the application, pending Virginia Department of Health approval but stipulated that County Administrator John McCarthy must investigate the current use of the other mobile homes on the property which is located off Route 619. The couple had told the commission and the BZA that their other mobile homes are being used for farm storage. In addition the BZA said that the apartment would be limited to use by family members in perpetuity.
