Continued from page 10 the hill behind the school. Admission was 50 cents. The Luray Lions Club, Boy Scouts and other civic groups sold concessions. The entertainment was of a “merry-go-round of little red wagons,” an appearance by the “world’s smallest man,” and a “hillbilly show” by Blain Smith and his Pioneer Boys. The second fair was a little bigger, with more entries and participants, and a parade that began on Mechanic Street, proceeded down Hawksbill Street to Main Street, then along Main Street to Broad Street and onto Amiss Avenue, then along Luray Avenue to the high school grounds.
