They put a lot of private dollars and effort into die fair.” Liscomb said he required all eight of his children to have an exhibit in the fair every year they were in high school. They learned much, he said, and quite often won. One of his daughters, Amy, won so many categories for horses the fair association board had to change the rules to limit the number of awards one person can win. “I’ve gained a lot of experience with the fair, and its helped me raise my children,” Liscomb said. “Fve always found the fair to be worthwhile, especially for children.”
