Although a county employee, Shaffer has spent countless hours making the library the envy of neighboring jurisdictions.
“Dave is quietly efficient and works closely with community and government groups in the county as involves the library. We hope he stays forever,” said Roberta Anderson, former library board president.
Recently married to 1 Gwen Vredevoogd, the Shaffers live in Fauquier County. Gwen works as a librarian in Arlington.
Shaffer works closely with the Friends of the Library to ensure events like the annual Fourth of July Book Sale are a success.
