community will be sad to learn of the passing of Calvin, the cat. Calvin was as much a character as any person we have known, so much so that he deserves a eulogy.

Calvin was a social animal, not typical of domestic cats. He was well known by the shop people, especially at Morency, where he liked to hang out for a time: he deceived them into thinking he was hungry, just as he deceived us ten years ago.

In reality, he was a supreme egoist, lapping up the attention he received and unable to share that attention with any other car. With his big, soulful eyes and noble head and his French-Swiss heritage he
