ine long days were taken very seriously by the children. Up at 6:30 a.m. and home by 11 p.m. most nights, they were fortunate to have one rainy morning (just after the raindance at Mountainside Market was held). Sleeping until 9 a.m. was a luxury. None were awake when the call from the director came to rally and begin the last day of shooting.
Exhausted as they were, they hurdled over fences that whole morning, hearing “Take 10, action!”: and, responding without a groan.
Running through fields, mucking through creeks, using nets at dusk to catch dragonflies and fireflies wij,h the crew, created a camaraderie that became uniquely special. When it was all over and the last meal was shared with a champagne toast, addresses were exchanged with hopes of connecting again.
