Memorial service planned
A memorial service honoring Delores “Dodi” Mary Driscoll (Jan. 22, 1950 to July 17, 1999) ... eulogy and celebration of her service to children and their families will be held Aug. 23 at 1 p.m. at the Jeffersonton United Methodist Church on Route 802 with Rev. Bryan McClain.
Wakefield hosts open house
Wakefield School in The Plains will host Admissions Open Houses for students entering grades 4-6 and 9-11 on Thursday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. The public and especially prospective students and their parents are invited to attend. For more information call 253-5393.
United Way plans Fair Day
On Friday, Aug. 6, the Culpeper Wal-Mart Supercenter will host Piedmont United Way Agency Fair Day. This event will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in front of Wal-Mart.
Many different human service agencies from Culpeper, Fauquier, Orange, Madison and Rappahannock counties will take part in this event. Information will be available describing the services offered fron^each agency and how to contact them. The.public is invited to come out and visit with the Piedmont United Way and its agencies. You will leapn how they provide assistance in helping our youth, reducing homelessness, supporting older people and empowering those with disabilities. Refreshments will be served.
Summer camp scheduled
TASS for Teens of Jeffersonton is organizing and leading a two week Canadian Wilderness Fishing Summer Camps to beautiful Northern Ontario for youth ages 10-17 on Aug. 7-20. The trips will leave from Jeffersonton anff include qualified and caring staff, complete instruction, round-trip transportation, meals, most camping equipment, cabin lodging, and motorboat.
