The board gave consensus to support RappahannockRapidan Planning District 9 in applying for a grant to study the feasibility of a small business incubator for the creation and development of new business.
The supervisors have no problem with this as long as no county money is spent. Frazier does not approve of putting public money into such a program. Roger Welch echoed Frazier’s concerns.
• The board also heard from Larry Land of the Virginia Association of Counties. He spoke briefly about some of the association’s activities, including the upcoming local Government Officials Conference in Charlottesville, and presented the board with a certificate of appreciation to the county for its membership in the association.
The next board of supervisor;' meeting is scheduled for Sept. 8.
