Rappahannock County can be thankful to the Maazel family and to concerned, involved and dedicated parents, teachers and students for creating and sustaining the Hearthstone Whole Family Learning Center in Castleton. Situated on Castleton Farms in the rolling hills of southeastern Rappahannock, the school grounds and upper and lower school plant only.hint at the educational wonderland within.
A visitor to Hearthstone might just be greeted by llamas, goats, or an emu or two upon arrival, but will definitely meet an exuberant, freshfaced band of kids, dedicated and thoroughly involved parents, and teachers whose passion for nurturing their student charges is reflected in their every word and in the sparkle in their eyes.
Whoa! What gives? Rappahannock County has a public school system that is well-reputed, provides a more than adequate education to its student population, has performed well on the standardized SOL tests, and has a dedicated body of teachers, administrators, and school board.
