As tne volunteer coordinator, Jan is a resource for teachers. “I try to make their job easier. I find volunteers to come in that help enrich their curriculum, find tutors and resources, and start parent committees to get programs going.”
These are just a few of the things she does; the list goes on and on. Jan helped start the visiting artists program, which invites artists in the community to come in and work with students.
She initiate^ the technology advisory committee, which involves professionals from the community who help upgrade our technology programs.
Jan established a tutoring program for students who need extra help. She also initiated the After-School Enrichment Program at the elementary school.
According to Jan the best thing about her job is the people. “I’ve always been a people person, and I’ve met some of the most incredible people because of this job. There are people with wonderful talents and amazing backgrounds throughout the county, and some of them blend into the background. I try to pull them
