Flocks often sing in chorus and males sing even in flight.
In early spring goldfinches feast on dandelion puffs but their favorite food is thistle seed. However they also will eat ragweed, and a number of other seeds. The beak of the goldfinch is adapted for seed eating, since it is broad and strong. Berries and insects are also a part of their diet.
