Easter egg hunt planned
The Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station will sponsor a free Easter egg hunt for children up to 12 years of age on Saturday, April 14 beginning at 11 a.m. Each child will receive a candy basket. All children are invited.
Hours extended
As tax deadline approaches the Rappahannock* Commissioner of Revenue Office will offer extended hours now through May 1 for your convenience. The office will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Benefit bake sale slated
An Easter bake sale to benefit Piedmont Feline Rescue will be held on Saturday, April 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the entrance of Talk of the Town, 311 Gay Street, Washington. There will be a variety of home-baked pies, cakes, cookies and yeast breads.
Dance series to begin
SynergyDance and founding director Charmaine Lee are starting a new series of classes called Synergy Belly Dance on Wednesday evening, March 28 at 6 p.m. at the Washington Town Hall.
The classes begin with a 30-minute warm up which, like SynergyDance classes, includes inner exploration of the natural elements, deep, subtle movements that lead into stretching. The classes go on to explore the healing rhythms and universal energy patterns inherent in Middle Eastern dance, freeing the pelvis and exploring the feminine qualities in yourself and in nature.
