RCES for details. One option is to meet in Warrenton for a quick dinner and then travel as a group from there.
• Domino, a red cardinal (puppet) from Emerick Elementary School in Purcellville, has just arrived in Mrs. Deborah Flinchum’s first Grade class at RCES. Domino has been traveling around the state. At each of his stops the individual or class that greets him is asked to send a note back to his First Grade class at Emerick School telling about their town or city and a little about themselves, before mailing Domino (short for Old Dominion) to another location in the state.
Domino came to RCES from Mrs. Colleen Cullen a teacher in Virginia Beach. She sent Domino to her friend Mrs. Makela, who then sent Domino to Mrs. Flinchum’s class. By the end of May Domino will have made many stops around the state and the children at Emerick will have learned a lot about our wonderful state. What a fun project!
• Just a reminder that June 14 and 15 will be snow make-up days this year. June 13 will now be a full day, and June 15 will be an 11 a.m. Early Release Day. Please mark your calendars.
• Try counting the different birds and mammals you see during the next week. Within the past two days, we have seen a fox, several robins, a raccoon, fawn triplets (!) and a rabbit. Spring has sprung! Enjoy!
