American Legion Auxiliary in Middleburg.
She organized the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. Mrs. Heflin served as treasurer and clerk for the Town of The Plains for 25 years and had been on their Tbwn Council.
She was the daughter of the late Willie Waugh Walter and Mary Elizabeth Withrow Walter.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Harry Heflin Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Harriet Sutphin of Culpeper and Joyce Pearson of The Plains; four sisters, Laura McCandless of Sacramento, Calif., Margaret Ellison of Rixeyville, Carolyn Brawley of Lene Grove, Okla. and Joyce Settlago of Volcano, Calif.; three grandchildren and one stepgrandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barbara Minter. Burial will be private.

James Y. Leake Sr., 67, of Hillsboro died Thursday, March 22 at Lansdowne Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, March 26 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Purcellville. A second service was held at Bradley Funeral Home in Luray. Burial was at Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
Mr. Leake was bom Jan. 12, 1934, in Sperryville. He worked for Southern States for 10 years and in law enforcement as a policeman, chief of police and deputy sheriff for 39 years. He
