Miss Becky Jones, economist for the Self Rising Flour and Com Meal Program Inc. will give a demonstration of these products at the Parish Hall in Washington on Sept. 21.
Miss Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Jones of Washington received a BS degree in Home Economics from Longwood College in 1960. She travels in four states Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and North Carolina for this company.
An ad appeared for the sixth anniversary sale at Northern Virginia Furniture in Warrenton with 9x12 linoleum mgs for only $4.95; an eight piece living room group for $199 and a special mattress and box spring sale for only $34.75 each piece.
Miss Carolyn Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Morgan Johnston of Washington won a bicycle by saving the wrappers from Lucky Star notebook paper and other paper products made by this company. It took her two years to collect 1,400 wrappers for the bicycle.
A group of Medical Mission Sisters who are staying at D.C. General, George Washington and Georgetown Hospitals spent a long weekend at Avon Hall as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Carrigan.
