The Jr. Panthers also faced Luray’s eighth grade team the same day. As was the case when they traveled to RCHS, the Jr. Panthers were too much for the little Lady Bulldogs. The Jr. Panthers got off to a slow start and finished the first half down by four points. The second half they came out, played good defense and outscored the Luray side 15 to 6.
The final score was Rapp Jr. Panthers over the Luray side 24 to 19. Eighth-grader Nicole Brown led the JP’s with eight points.
Cross Country
The cross country teams participated in the Eastern Mennonite Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 8. Results on team scores and times were not available when this article went to print. Senior Phillip Thomas finished first for the Rapp boys and junior Elaine Thomas led the girls side. Eighth-grader Alexander Sharp came in first among Rapp runners in the JV race.
Other runners on Saturday were seniors: Brian Lee and Gamer Smythe; juniors Kori Alexander, Albert DoddHenze, Cody Rodriguez, and Karie Beth Von Fange; sophomores: Chris Ehrhart, Katie Giles, and Erica Hilscher; and freshmen: Ethan Berry and James Jackson.
Other eighth-graders that participated in the JV race were Austin Miller, Brandon Lee, Forrest Marguisere, Vincent Rice and Tristan Sonnett. Every Rappahannock County runner finished the 3.1 mile race.
97.3%
