Lillard to ride in benefit
Jean Lillard will be riding the 12 mile course in the fifth annual Rappahannock RoughRide on Saturday, Sept. 22 to raise money for various activities for the Rappahannock Senior Citizens. Anyone wishing to make a pledge may do so by calling Jean Lillard at 675-7171 with an amount.
Rabies clinic scheduled
Rabies Vaccination Clinic will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Rappahannock Animal Welfare League, Route 639 off of US 211 in Amissville from 10 a m. to 2 p.m. Cost will be $10 per pet. Vaccinations will be available for cats and dogs. For more information call 937-3336.
Payne reunion scheduled
The Payne reunion will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington beginning at 11 a.m. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and a beverage. Table covers, plates, and plastic eating ware will be available.
Long View hosts art. show
Long View Gallery exhibits the new still lifes and Virginia Landscapes of David Williams, one of the areas most exciting young artists. The show runs through Sept. 24. The Gallery is on Historic Main Street in Sperryville. For more information call 987-3121.

Dodson family reunion set
The families of the late Ernest Dodson and Neva Nicholson Dodson will gather for a reunion on Sunday, Sept. 16. Lunch will be served at noon. All relatives and friends are invited to attend. Those attending should bring a covered dish.
Shooting match slated
■ The Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company is sponsoring a shooting match on Friday nights beginning at 7 p.m. starting on Sept. 7. Rules are 12 gauge shotguns; 25 yard shooting range; no scopes, no sleeves and 36 inch barrel maximum length.
