Peachie Frances Wright Washington, 86, of Crofton, Md., formerly of Culpeper, died on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md.

She was born in Madison County on Dec. 25, 1914.

Mrs. Washington was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church in Boston, where she was a Deaconess, member of the Flower Club and former member of the Church Home Mission Club and Senior Choir.

Her parents were the late Simuel Wright and Martha Kilby Wright.

Survivors include her husband, Strother Washington Sr. of Crofton, Md.; four sons, Douglas Carter of Fredericksburg, Carrol Lee Carter of Culpeper, Simuel Washington of Viewtown and Strother L. Washington Jr. of Crofton, Md. and four daughters, Arlene Frye of Boston, Sallie Braxton of Spotsylvania, Thelma Turner of Merrillville, Ind. and Alice Robinson of Culpeper.

Additional survivors include 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Nazareth Baptist Church in Boston with the Rev. Howard R. Frye officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

A.L. Bennett Funeral Home Inc. in Fredericksburg was in charge of the arrangements.
