Organizational meeting set
The primary members of the RAAC 4th of July committee are all stepping down. RAAC is proposing to have a series of meetings to find another group in the community to organize the celebration.
The first meeting has been set for Sept. 20 at the Washington Town Hall at 7 p.m. If you are interested but have a conflict, call RAAC at 675-3193 or the town hall at 6753128.
Songcamp, concert slated
This year’s Song Camp concert, “The Singer and the Song,” will be at 8 p.m. on Sept. 14 at The Theatre in Washington, and it kicks off a week long celebration of song and songwriting with original songs by Beth NielsenChapman, Ysaye Barnwell, and Paul Reisler.
The concert is just the start—it will be followed by two days of song writing workshops, and capped by “The Tidal Wave of Song Concert," featuring songs written by Rappahannock’s children, on Saturday, Sept. 22. Music festival planned
The sixth annual Rappahannock Music Festival will be held on the weekend of Sept. 15 and 16 in Sperryville. This is the free outdoor concert featuring local musicians of different ages, abilities and musical styles. Anyone interest in playing or volunteering to help present the two-day concert may call Brian Ross at 987-1010 or Mountainside Market at 987-9100.
Bible Study underway
Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville will host a Community Bible Study on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. The study is currently underway, however, you may begin at any point. Participants will study Paul’s letter to the Ephesians using the “Life Change Series.” The study is led by Deacon Holly Pendleton.
