Shelby Jean Solis, 65, of Culpeper died Tuesday, Sept. 4 at her residence.

Ms. Solis was bom June 10, 1936 to the late Luther Frank and Juanita Childress Burke.

She was employed by C&P Telephone in Washington, D.C. for more than 25 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Terri Johnson and her husband, Rick of Boston and Jewel Lyles and her husband, Rick of Culpeper.

Additional survivors include six grandchildren; one sister, Beth Herndon of Manassas and four brothers, Carol Burke of Roanoke, Frank Burke of Clearbrook, George Burke of Lovettesville and Stoney Burke of Albuquerque, N.M.

Graveside services were conducted on Friday, Sept. 7 at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Ann McNeil officiating.

Found and Sons Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
