Fall is in the air! Soccer and Cross Country practices have begun. trees are beginning to show subtle signs of changing foliage, the skies have been a clear, brilliant blue, and none of us know how to dress! Mornings are cool and by afternoon temperatures have risen to the 80s presenting a real challenge for all of us.

• Each year we have a more and more diverse student population. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to learn about other cultures from our very own students; howe 'er, it is occasionally difficult fdr staff to communicate as effectively as we would like with our Hispanic students.

If you are fluent in Spanish and would like to volunteer an hour or two each week to work with some of our students who need assistance with their assignments or communication with parents, please call Jan Makela at 987-8259 as soon as possible. We are anxious to make our new students transition to Rappahannock Public schools as comfortable as possible.

• Adult Education classes will be starting in October. We are excited about our class offerings to date and should have brochures available in the next
