In a lead photo, a wagon train heads south from Sperryville on Route 522 Saturday, recreating the journey taken by the state’s Founding Fathers, who played a key role in passing the U.S. Bill of Rights. Final destination: the Virginia state fairgrounds in Richmond.
The annual Trinity Church House Tour and Dried Flower sale takes place Oct. 19 and 20. In a photo preparing flowers for the sale are Martha Sutherland, Virginia Smith, Jenks Hobson, Natalie Lewis, Lois Snead, Cathryn Knuepfer, Jane Herndon, Lucy Oliver, Bill Young, Christine Johnson, Gil Webb, Louise Eastham and Ruth Baumgardner.
The Red Oak Johnson reunion was held on Sept. 15 at the home of Raymond Johnson. There were 46 relatives in attendance.
Washington, Va. resident Welby Lynn, daughter of Pamela Lynn, was honored at a recent assembly at Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly for outstanding performance at the National Junior Classical League Convention held in August at Emory University in Georgia. Welby received first place for her model of a Roman villa.
