The events of last week, I’m sure is still on everyone’s mind. Our country has suffered an unspeakable loss. What we must do now is try to help those in need and try to help our children understand that they are safe.
We have to put our trust in God and the leaders of our great country, to do the right and just thing. If you have not given blood, give. If you can take food items to a collection site, do so. If all you can do is pray, then pray. Whatever you can do, do it.
Now is the time for us to come together and count our many blessings, and to stop worrying about stuff that doesn’t matter. Life is too short and all we have is each other and our faith and hope in our country and God.
Take time to call someone you haven’t talked to in awhile or a family member that you have had a disagreement with. Live life to the fullest and embrace what you have.
I know our little community in Amissville sends its heart felt sorrow and sympathy to the victims of this horrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who have been affected in anyway
Country Kids Playgroup will resume on Monday Oct. 1 at the Jeffersonton Community Center. New families are welcome to join. The playgroup is a non-profit group for parents/caregivers and children ages infant to five.
The group meets every Monday and Thursday from 10 am to noon. Tbys are provided; crafts and activities are planned. Optional field trips are also planned. Minimum dues are collected to defray the cost of the rent. Call Kim Whitman at 341-7488 for information.
