Thoroughbreds aren’t the only game in Virginia this fall.
Standardbred trotters and pacers will get equal time at two separate harness meets.
The first is a new meet at the historic Oak Ridge estate in Nelson County, Sept. 21-Oct. 7. Formerly a half-mile training center, for nearly a century defunct, the Oak Ridge track has been revamped, renewed and reworked, and will reopen for 10 racing days on Friday, Sept. 21.
Post time is 1 p.m. each racing day, which are three consecutive long weekends: Sept. 2123, Sept. 28-30 and Oct. 5-7.
