Rabies clinic scheduled

Rabies Vaccination Clinic will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Rappahannock Animal Welfare League, Route 639 off of US 211 in Amissville from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost will be $10 per pet. Vaccinations will be available for cats and dogs. For more information call 937-3336.

Fire and rescue picnic slated

The Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue picnic will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Flint Hill fire department. Everyone is invited. Those attending should bring a covered dish. Drinks will be provided.

Featured events will include guest speakers, Air Care helicopter, antique fire trucks, state of the art 2001 fire truck, games for old and young and fun for the entire family.

Long View hosts art show

Long View Gallery exhibits the new still lifes and Virginia Landscapes of David Williams, one of the areas most exciting young artists. The show runs through Sept. 24. The Gallery is on Historic Main Street in Sperryville. For more information call 987-3121.

Avtex employees to gather

All former Avtex employees from Rappahannock County are invited to come see your old friends and co-workers at Bing Crosby Stadium, Shelter #5 on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 4 p.m. Bring a covered dish. Shooting match slated

The Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company is currently sponsoring a shooting match on Friday nights beginning at 7 p.m. Rules are 12 gauge shotguns; 25 yard shooting range; no scopes, no sleeves and 36 inch barrel maximum length.

Clay artists show at Gallery

The Middle Street Gallery presents a group show entitled “Clay Artist of the Piedmont." On exhibit through Sept. 30 are recent works in clay by Sara Schneidman, Suzanne Stewart and Roberta Wagner. These three artist represent the best of what is being produced today in this time-honored medium. The gallery is open every Friday through Sunday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Call the gallery at 675-3440.
