It was this doctor who sent my late father to Culpeper Memorial Hospital, as a surgical patient. After surgery and a week there in the hospital he recovered greatly.
Last but not least, Boston was also blessed to have a dentist doctor, Dr. James Quaintance, who lived and practiced near the Boston General Store. We don’t know if all these doctors were relatives or not. Dr. James was related to the Quaintances here in Rappahannock.
Back in those days, when doctors would visit in the homes, it certainly was great to have them in all localities. In by gone days, this writer was a patient of two of these doctors, of which we were thankful to have them close by.
Belated birthday wishes go out to Miss Kendra Hitt who celebrated her day on Friday, Sept. 14; Mrs. Shelvy Frazier added another year on Saturday, Sept. 15 followed by Mrs. Mary G. Nicholson who claimed Sunday as her day.
Sympathy is extended to two Reva families, Mrs. Woody (Barbara) Hoffman, who passed away last Tuesday and Mrs. James (Patricia) Newland who passed away at her residence on Tuesday, with funeral services on Friday.
Mrs. Valerie Ward and son, Phillip of Reva were Friday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Curtiss L. Weaver.
We continue to add many to our prayer list, trusting they will be better soon. Listed this week are Mrs. Larry Shepherd, Mr. Ray Cannon, Mr. Edmond Burke, Mrs. Elizabeth Deane, Mrs. Mattie Hackley, Mrs. Florine Smith, Mr. Grat Buracker and any others you might have on your heart will appreciate your prayers.
