Garden Party and Tour of Avon Hall
Cooter and his band will play Rappahannock Rhythms on Sunday, Sept. 30 at Avon Hall during a fall afternoon garden party to benefit the Rappahannock Historical Society. The fundraiser is from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Guided tours of the 200-year-old Avon Hall estate are from 3 to 5:15 p.m. This is a good opportunity to see the historic 18-acre estate which the Town of Washington is planning to buy. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased at the Historical Society, 675-1163. The fundraiser is preceded by a 2 p.m. dedication of the addition of the Historical Society building on nearby Gay Street in the Town of Washington.
