Throughout the length of
the Commonwealth, from Northern Virginia to Virginia Beach to Cumberland Gap, citizens and voters are looking at the candidates for Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General, and they like what they see in the Democratic team of Warner, Kaine, and McEachin.
Because the current team of Gilmore and Co. has such a deplorable record in Virginia, the Republicans can’t campaign on it. All they can do is attack the Democrats, with their usual tirade of mudslinging half-truths, distortions, and outright lies.
Leading the way in falsehoods is Jay Katzen, Republican candidate for Lt. Governor facing Democrat Tim Kaine. Katzen publicly announced that “Kaine doesn’t think the Boy Scouts ought to be able to meet in our public schools. If he takes the Boy Scouts out, he takes the flag out, then he takes school prayer out...”
When it was pointed out to Katzen that Kaine had been a Boy Scout himself, and was the father of two Boy Scouts, Katzen had to admit that he merely “assumed”
